How to Give Google Analytics Access

The following steps will tell you how to give a third party access to your Google Analytics account. You can either let them view, or, if you choose, edit your account. These steps require Google admin access.

Step 1: Login

First, sign in to your Google Analytics account as usual.

Step 2: Admin

As long as you have Google Analytics admin access, in the bottom left of the navigation area, there is a link for the “Admin” area. Click this link to get to the screen that will allow you to add a user to Google Analytics.

Step 3: Choose the Account You Want to Share Access To

After you click on the Admin link, it will take you to another page where you will need to choose the account from the drop-down menu that you would like to give another user access to. (If you have a single account with multiple properties, you will also need to select the property. You can do so in the column to the right of the Account column. Then, use the “User Management Link” in the property column for the next step.)

Step 4: User Management

Once you choose the account you want from the drop-down menu, then click the button that says “User Management.” This is also where you can delete users.

Step 5: Add Users

After you click “User Management,” you will see a page open where you can add new users to your account. Just type in their Gmail address, choose which level of access you want to allow them, check the box to notify the person via their email, and click “add.” If you only want to allow the person read only access, select the “Read & Analyze” option. You can also view the level of existing users access and select permissions.

After you click add, their email address will show in the list and an email will be sent to let them know that they now have access to your Google Analytics account.
